STUDENT
PROJECT
FLIP CARDS
April
5, 2001
Show the passage
of a simple wave from surface to surface, drawn on a series of small cards
stapled together. When you flip them with your thumb, the movement
of the wave becomes animated.
For practice,
try to animate a bouncing ball on a hard floor.
For the more
adventurous, try making flip cards demonstrating the formation of a neutron,
or its decay, or the formation and stabilization of a proton.
The cards should
be made from stiff paper and about 1.25" x 2". As many as thirty
layers should be attempted for prolonged action.
