JOEL WEBB EDUCATION AND WORK HISTORY
Professor Webb was born in Los Angeles in 1937 and received his education at Santa Monica City College and San Fernando Valley State College.
His first position was in aerospace in 1957, where he worked at Douglas Aircraft Advanced Liquid Rocketry Division, Nike, Thor and Zeus Ajax Flight Telemetry Department, supporting the Air Force Vandenberg Missile Flight Range, as uplink telemetry technician specialist with Q-Secret Air Force clearance.
Earned AA Degree in 1962 at Santa Monica City College; general education Math/Science curriculum. Continued at San Fernando Valley College and finished 13 units short of B.S. in Math/Physics as principal major.
Later worked for Teledyne Radar Relay as manufacturing lead technician, assembling ground avoidance terrain radar systems for Aphis helicopter. Supervised airborne package fabrication department with fifteen assembly personnel beneath me. Also performed parts procurement from major national venders for this joint services military contract with Lockheed.
During 1972-1974, Professor Webb lectured ontological cosmology at U.C.L.A. under the auspices of the Experimental College. It was at this time, the Society for the Diffusion of Knowledge was created.
In 1969 he worked as irrigation specialist for the Polynesian Cultural Center in Oahu under the auspices of the Mormon Church, when he met his present wife Constance.
Since 1972, he started working
in the the motion picture film and video broadcast arenas, serving as design
engineer and post-production editor. He has written field design
specification changes for major companies such as Ampex, Tektronix and
CMX. Currently he operates a small post-production facility
in Santa Monica, California, providing the industry with a unique video
hard drive NTSC/Windows NT computer services,where he earned the name Cosmo
Joe by his son's friends during rap backup for music videos. He presently
serves as Chief Systems Design Engineer.
During this
tenure, he served as principal videotape editor on PBS jazz programs featuring
famous artist such as Sam Nurt, Dizzie Gillespie...music videos for,
moved in the graces of Motown, principle editor on Britain's special shot
in London but premiered in Westwood Village
