If indeed awareness, with rare and unique exception, is vibrant and continuous, as only we can imagine it must be, then the surface is the only thing able to support such a requirement.
At this point, I am asking you to make a connection and a departure, a departure from the vague theological comprehension of the Almighty, a departure from Eastern mysticism, a departure from the "New Age" spiritualism, and a bunch of other stuff which explains nothing, and a connection to good sense, without institutional encumbrances and mythology, along with all that other insupportable and virtually meaningless gobbligook.
The epicenter of all this is you. How you view yourself. Are you just flesh and bone, atoms and molecules, and biological thought, or are you something more?
How do you equate yourself to dreams, visions and feelings. Are they generated within you, or do they sometimes come from deep or from afar?
Who or what would you believe about yourself, if only you can know those experiences only you can know? What teacher would you ask, and what guru would you follow? And thus you have come to your ultimate test, yourself.
No one can tell you what you are, your purpose, your destiny, or how you might fit in. There is no blueprint for this. As a biological animal, which you are, you have emerged accidentally from an accidental world, and have been molded by incidence, on most count. As their is no blueprint, there are exceptions even to this. But what you are not, is not like me, and I know what I am! Let me tell you, then you might understand what is the Functional Domain.
More than anything else, I know
that I am speeding through the Random
Field at an incredible 200-300 km per second. Sometimes, when
a brief feeling enters my consciousness, when I become cognitive to it,
I know that I have passed through a region of the Cosmos, where and when
the vibrations of the surfaces are in a collective or singular harmony
corresponding to this feeling. If it were in my power to seek out
this feeling by diverting my direction, it would be the purpose of my desire,
hence my will to go forth. But I cannot, because I must stay with
the earth. This is my bondage to the Inertial
Domain. But all are not of this bondage. There are of course
aliens, who may travel with their spaceships.
But they too are confined to the Inertial Domain.
There are spirits residing in
hollows, cellars and cool dark places. But they too travel with the
earth. There are lessor gods, such as Pele, King Neptune, Terra,
the Gods of the Mists, the Wind Gods, and the Sun God, who are also confined
in travel, none having this freedom of will. Perhaps that is why
they are sometimes perceived, or known to be, intolerant, tempestuous and
angry.
On the other hand, demons and
angels are unbounded, but of course not everywhere at once. They
may move freely, not only through the Cosmos, but through the awareness'
residing in the Cosmos, such as you and I. Perhaps by now, you are
getting glimpse of what the Functional Domain is. The Functional
Domain is a three-dimensional place whose presence and behavior is wholly
dependent by those elements delineated by the Fundamental
Domain, where without, the Functional Domain could not otherwise exist
(inclusive all of its personalities, such as the gods).
The Functional Domain is no more or less different than music traveling through a copper wire, or any conduit, such as a nerve, from one transducer such as a record player or microphone, to another, such as a speaker. It is a domain of activity, meaningful or otherwise. It is not existence in itself, such as Being in the Fundamental Domain, nor is it simple motion and interaction such as between surfaces, but it is rather activity (of surfaces) which can assume cognition to awareness', where without such activity, the potential for awareness remains dormant.
For example, a pure awareness
asleep, will not waken without priorii. Since awareness is a wake
state; asleep, it does not exist. If it hears music, via the
copper wire, it comes into existence. Of course in this example,
I can only imagine that you are imagining a human asleep, who is awoken
by the radio, and I can only imagine that you consider this person's awareness
to find its epicenter inside their physiological boundaries, such as their
brain. If though, you imagine this awareness to be inside the copper
wire leading to the speakers, you have well defined the intrinsic aspect
of the Functional Domain. Extending this domain beyond the copper
wire, without yourself as principal example, spatially outward to the extent
that our Milky Way Galaxy is framed by it, and you have percieved, in principal
aspect, Lord Jehovah, creator of the Milky Way Galaxy, or what Carl Yung
might refer to as a cosmic consciousness.
Understanding this simple notion
about the Functional Domain belays not only the meaning of its name in
the clarification that it is not principally based upon existence or supreme
fundamentally, but merely the dynamics of its activity, which at times
proves functional, though not purposely so, and that it is the ascendant
residence of dreams and will. As such, when your awareness transcends
and leaves the Inertial Domain and goes into the Functional Domain, though
as real as real can be, it is in comparison to the innate restrictions
and limitations imposed upon our awareness' by the Inertial Domain, which
we are all most familiar, dangerously unlimited and surreal.
So, the next time someone asks you if dreams are at all real, ask them if they might think being in jail is real, after they have been released and it becomes only a memory.
For you to better understand these things, follow and understand the teachings of Buddha, who can only remind us repeatedly, that all we experience, see, hear, smell, touch and know, happens not outside ourselves, but within. When you read this on your monitor, though these words in phosphor occur upon this flat surface a foot or more away from you, its appreciation by your awareness is geometrically unbounded and indeterminate, but all happening now, and is little different than a dream, a thought, a feeling, or a vision.
Also understand that your vibrations extending within and without, are no more or less than any energy form, even though not clinically measurable, nor particularly spatially bounded, do occur in the NOW, just like the apple Sir Isaac Newton saw fall from an apple tree in his NOW, and are therefor unquestionably real and dynamic.
I have now put you in touch with
the third domain, envisioned and defined by the
philosopher
Plato, yet not fully understood by Western culture, not just as a condition
or place, but as an active and verdant field of will, closely corresponding
the the Cosmic Consciousness defined by Carl Jung,
it is yours to pursue more than ever before. You have a great task
before you, oh savage, creature of the wilderness, child of the heavens.
A word of advice. Always seek beauty around and within you, for in doing, other creatures both large and small, will find you, and this you will discover in them. In other words, as anger begets anger, hate begets hate, beauty begets beauty, and it is your choice of which of these many possibilities you wish to prevail around you and nurture your destiny, and travel with you along your infinite path through the Cosmos.
