"The discovery of the aberration of light in 1725, due to James Bradley (1693 - 1762) is one of the most important in the whole domain of astronomy; and in pure physics it has provoked a succession of investigations culminating in the theory of relativity. It was entirely unexpected, and it was only by extraordinary perseverance and perspicuity that Bradley was able to explain it in 1729.

CONTRADICTIONS TO THE BIG-BANG
September 27, 1999: Dr. Eyal Maoz of NASA Ames Research Center, Moffett Field, CA, and astrophysicists from a variety of U.S. and Canadian institutions have found evidence suggesting that the universe may be younger than scientists had previously thought, and that it is expanding faster than expected. Their findings are reported in the September 23 issue of Nature magazine.

DEVELOPMENT OF THE EVOLUTIONARY EXPANDING MODEL
The idea that the universe is expanding from some common point of explosion comes from the direct interpretation of Hubble law, and finds convincing confirmation in the discovery of background radiation, as well as support from our knowledge of thermo-chemical processes at the elementary level, and new developments in theory.

Another famous supercluster, known as the Great Wall, is a sheet of galaxies 250 million light years away. It measures 200 million by 600 million light years in area with a thickness of only 20 million light years.
Edwin Hubble was a man who changed our view of the Universe. In 1929 he showed that galaxies are moving away from us with a speed proportional to their distance. The explanation is simple, but revolutionary: the Universe is expanding.
The Eta Carina Nebula is the largest diffuse nebula in the sky, much larger than the more famous Orion Nebula; that it is not better known is no doubt due to the fact that it is not visible from most of the Northern Hemisphere.
